Innellan Golf Club (5-minute drive)

We have a 9 hole course with panoramic views overlooking the Firth of Clyde in beautiful Argyll, just down the coast from Dunoon

Visitors are welcome but you might want to look up the fixture list or contact us by email to check that there are no fixtures on before arrival.

Innellan Bowling and Tennis Club (2-minute walk)

The Club originated in 1854 with most of the members being successful businessmen from Glasgow & Greenock, who owned large houses in the village of Innellan where their families spent the summer months on the shores of the Clyde. Today the wealthy merchants and businessmen have been replaced by the community of Innellan and surrounding areas who form the backbone of this small friendly club.

Pucks Glen (25-minute drive)

A deep, woodland gorge with cascading waterfalls

Follow a magical trail that winds along a Victorian walkway up the dramatic rocky gorge that is said to be home to mischievous spirits. Pass several waterfalls beneath the towering Douglas firs. During your visit, keep a sharp eye out and you might just spot the mystical Ghillie Dhu!

Benmore Botanic Gardens  (30-minute drive)

For true drama visit Benmore Botanic Garden, renowned for its fine collections of rhododendrons and conifers grown to immense stature in a mountain landscape.

Benmore’s 120 acres are home to a world-famous collection of plants from regions ranging from the Himalayas, China, and Japan to North and South America.

Waverly  (seasonal)

Step aboard the famous Waverley – The world’s last seagoing paddle steamer – and experience the sight, sound and thrill of travelling on this magnificent steamship.

Hear the telegraph ring and watch the mighty steam engine start to drive the ship’s massive paddle wheels, view the stunning coastline, smell the aroma of hot oil and steam while visiting new places.

Paddle steamer Waverley is registered on The National Historic Fleet as being a vessel of pre-eminent national significance. She has operated in preservation since 1975 and become a “national treasure” carrying over 6 million passengers.

Waverley is the sole survivor and has become an icon in her own lifetime.(

Castle House Museum (15-minute drive) An exquisite building right in the heart of Dunoon. Step into the history of Cowal, from Neolithic times to wartime. Enjoy the expansive views over the Clyde or picnic in our beautiful gardens.

Riverside Swim and Health Centre (15-minute drive)

Riverside Swim and Health Centre is situated on the promenade of Dunoon, close to the town centre. It is within easy walking distance of the local ferry terminal, with excellent transport links to Gourock, Glasgow and beyond. However, you don’t need to take a ferry to enjoy the facilities here – Dunoon is only a short 1.5hr drive from Glasgow.

With views over the River Clyde to the hills beyond, the facility incorporates a 25 metre, six-lane swimming pool and a teaching pool; a dedicated strength training gym; a health suite with steam room, sauna and spa; and shop – all under one roof!

Action Argyll has a network of 13.5km of single track trails for intermediate and advanced riders. We have a team of trail builders maintaining new trails all the time. So, nomatter what the weather you will experience incredible trail conditions, with something new to try each time you visit. 

We have graded our current trails as Black, so you know the level of difficulty and what kind of terrain to expect from each trail. A GoPro POV run of each of our trails is available to get you psyched for your next visit. Enjoy.
